Long-term initiative aims to help preserve the greener, healthier communities increasingly sought by today’s homebuyers.
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (July 15, 2026) — For a growing number of Millennials and Gen Z homebuyers, choosing where to live is no longer just about finding an affordable house or being close to Metro Manila. They’re increasingly looking for something equally valuable—a community with more open spaces, greener surroundings, and a better quality of life.
That shift has helped fuel demand for horizontal developments across Southern Luzon, particularly in growth areas such as Laguna and Batangas, where buyers are seeking communities that offer a healthier environment while remaining connected to economic centers.
As more Filipinos choose these greener communities, NEXTASIA Land believes developers have a responsibility that goes beyond building homes—they must also help protect the environment that makes these places worth living in.
With this vision, NEXTASIA Land, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Barangay Majada Out, officially launched the NXTGreen Sustainability Partnership through a tree planting activity held on July 15, 2026 at NEXTASIA Estonia in Calamba City.
More than a ceremonial event, the launch marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration focused on reforestation, environmental stewardship, and community commitment, with additional tree planting activities planned across Laguna and Batangas before the end of the year.
The timing was intentional. The rainy season provides ideal conditions for newly planted trees to establish stronger roots through consistent natural rainfall, giving them a better chance to thrive. As communities across the country are also reminded each year of the effects of stronger storms and changing weather patterns, investing in greener landscapes has become increasingly relevant—not only for the environment but also for the long-term resilience and livability of communities.
Volunteers from NEXTASIA, DENR, and the local community planted native Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa) seedlings, a Philippine tree valued for its wide canopy, vibrant purple blooms, and contribution to biodiversity and greener public spaces.
For Dustin Y. Carreon, President and Chief Operating Officer of NEXTASIA Land, sustainability should be viewed as part of community-building—not simply as a corporate social responsibility initiative.

The NXTGreen Sustainability Partnership supports NEXTASIA’s broader vision of creating communities that remain livable for generations. Alongside environmental initiatives, the company continues to integrate sustainability features across its developments, including solar-powered streetlights, EV-ready provisions, and broadband-ready infrastructure through its NXTGreen Certified Communities program.
Tristan Y. Carreon, Deputy to the Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that meaningful environmental impact can only be achieved through collaboration.

The July 15 launch serves as the first step in what NEXTASIA envisions as an ongoing environmental movement. As reforestation activities continue across Laguna and Batangas, the company hopes to inspire more organizations and communities to recognize that creating better neighborhoods doesn’t end when the last house is built.
Because if more young Filipinos are choosing the South for its greener landscapes and healthier way of life, preserving those landscapes should become part of how communities are developed—not just how they’re marketed.
